Vanity.
Slap his name on the front
or he’ll demolish the whole thing.
Like a child who doesn’t want
to share his toys, he’d rather
tear it down.
Ego.
It’s never good enough
for the wealthy to dance
so rip off a wing
so the eagle can never fly.
Tear it down
Deflection.
Too many accusations
aimed your way. Bullseye.
Best to deflect to the reflection,
but now it’s green as greed.
Tear it down.
Excess.
Golden arches in the drive-thru
inspired your bloated arch
in your backyard
only proving you’re fat.
Tear it down.
Pride.
The Arts of War and Peace
slathered in gold leaf
are false idols venerating
false gods of evil.
Tear it down.
Dictatorship.
This administration forgot
its people in its wake
to make money, gain power,
suck their providers’ dick.
Tear it down.
