What makes a weed a weed?
There’s no special grouping
Even prized flower breeds
Are weeds when not wanted
Weeds are labeled weeds for
Growing in the wrong place
The few among many
Not wanted by the mass
They are called weeds despite
Having roots that run deep
Growing swiftly and strong
And multiplying free
Weeds are just wildflowers
Called by another name
But different labels
Won’t change what makes them great
